This video of Giorgetto Giugiaro
was recorded by e-Photographia at Nikon's D3 presentation in
Tokyo, Japan.
It would seem that both great companies have their favourite
designer - after all, Giugiaro's first Nikon design was the F3,
while it was Luigi Colani with the Canon T90 who started moving
modern camera design towards more organic shapes.
Will the camera industry ever get designs as iconic as those of
Jonathan Ive? It remains to be seen, but in the meanwhile, watch
this very interesting video to learn more about an often neglected
side of photographic equipment - industrial design. |
