The 1D MkIII is a reporter camera. Don't buy it for excellent image quality with high detail. If you want that, buy the 1Ds Mk II. However, when it comes to getting the shot, this camera is a wonderful tool. It's a speed demon with loads of personalisation features, a great AF system and a robust body that also happens to have great ergonomics – in other words, the perfect tool. The LiveView function didn't really appeal to me in Fuji S3 Pro and S5 Pro or in the Olympus E-330. However, I found it to be very useful in this camera, especially when shooting from the back row. Of course, you have to know how to use it, as autofocus doesn't work in LiveView. For that reason, I focused first and then went into the LiveView mode.

ISO 3200, 24mm, 1/100, f/4. High sensitivity makes it possible to avoid camera shake. And most of all, image quality is still good.
